The kids are asleep and I am in the middle of a long weekend(MLK). I commute to work daily and even pick my kids up from school and pedal them home in a trailer in Baltimore City. Plenty of people bike commute, although in Baltimore the number is much less than in cities such as D.C., Philly and NY. I do not see a lot of black bike commuters in the Baltimore area. Of course there are quite a few black messengers out and about zipping thru town, but just regular black folk who have a car but decide to ride a bike is not common. That is why the blog is named Brother on a Bike. I am trying to show the brothers and sisters out there that it is okay to get out there and pedal.
